High up on a ridge at 2,300 MASL in Bombe, Ethiopia, Nguisse Nare’s 10-hectare farm “Setame” is where precision meets passion. This is not your grandma’s coffee plot — we’re talking variety 74158 growing wild alongside taro and sweet potato, all dialed in for flavor. Setame is one of three farms in Nguisse’s lineup (with Kokose and Tiburo), where he’s producing bold, natural and anaerobic lots using both his own cherry and fruit from 60 of his neighbors — a true community hustle.
Four years ago, Nguisse bought the farm with one mission: quality, no compromises. Cherries get floated for consistency, then slow-dried like a fine wine — 20 days on raised beds, no shortcuts. This is coffee with edge, energy, and a whole lot of altitude.
We have to thank Chris Feran and the team we have sourcing our Ethiopians. Together we have soem of the best of every year. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE.
